SHOW RULES

1. Judging to Y.A.A.S. rules and standards.
All exhibits to be shown in slab sided containers.
All show tanks to have sufficient airspace above the waterline.
2. Once benched, exhibits not to be removed without permission of the Show Steward.
When de-benching is announced all exhibitors should remain within the show room until it is established that no exhibits are missing.
3. To assist the public, exhibitors must name their entries.
4. Although Ryedale A.S. will take all possible care of exhibits, and provide access to airpump facilities for use by exhibitors, no responsibility can be accepted for loss or damage to same.
Non-exhibitors must gain permission from the Show Steward to take photographs (flash photography is prohibited prior to and during judging) within the showing room.
Members of the Ryedale Aquarist Society will be present within the showing room at all times.
5. Fish entered in Classes 9 and 44 are to consist of six fish, over four months old, bred by the exhibitor with the date of spawning/birth of the fry and breeding group clearly marked.
6. Fish entered in Classes 10 and 43 must be true pairs.
7. Entries in Class 24 are for children only and will only be accepted if the youngster in whose name these fish are benched is present on the day.
8. Classes 26 and 27 follow the current Killie showing guide as laid down by the Y.A.A.S. Judges and Standards Committee.
9. Class 33 is open to any variety of female egglaying fish.
10. Class 34 is open to the true albino form, pink body and red eyes, of any type of fish.

The Centre operates a strict NO SMOKING policy.

As Ryedale A.S. will do all in our power to make sure that guests do not come into contact with agricultural implements, we ask our guests to stay clear of such implements and not to let youngsters wander around the Centre on their own. There is ample free parking at and around the venue.

Refreshments will be available at the venue (bar facilities are available at the Leisure Centre opposite).

HOW TO FIND THE VENUE

If you are coming from the YORK direction: Follow the A64 onto the Malton by-pass. Branch left at signs for Flamingoland and Steam Railway branching left at the roundabout onto the A169 Malton to Pickering road. Follow the A169 into Pickering (you will see the Police Station on your left-hand side) and at the roundabout (the Forest and Vale Hotel is on your left-hand side) turn left into Hungate. SEE BELOW.

From DRIFFIELD, HULL etc.: Follow the B1248 into Norton turning left into Norton high street. Go past the swimming baths and after the Motorcycle Showroom turn right over the railway crossing following the bend to the traffic lights. Turn right and follow this road into Old Malton carrying straight on to the roundabout. Take the second exit onto the A169 following the instructions as above.

From the NORTH-EAST: Making your way to Helmsley follow the A170 Pickering road. At the Kirkbymoorside roundabout come straight on following the road to Middleton. At the end of Middleton village (garage on right-hand side) take first left signposted 'Pickering local traffic only'. Follow the road going past the Lodge Hotel (on your right-hand side) then taking first main turning on the left (you will see the Askham Bryan road sign) into Swainsea Lane. Follow the road going past St. Joseph's R.C.S. on your left-hand side and the Lady Lumley's/Leisure Centre complex on you right turning first left into the venue car park.

From SCARBOROUGH, BRIDLINGTON etc.: Follow A170 Scarborough to Pickering road. As you enter Pickering (Cost cutter on left-hand side) follow the road to the roundabout. Go straight over the roundabout into Hungate. SEE BELOW.

From WHITBY: Follow the A169 Whitby to Pickering road into Pickering. going past the cemetery carry straight on to the roundabout and take the third exit. SEE BELOW.

SEE BELOW: Carry along Hungate (Flintoft's is on your right-hand side) to the traffic lights. At the lights turn right along The Ropery (supermarket car park on right-hand side) and after the library (which may have a large mural in front of it) turn left and over the bridge into Potter Hill (Polly's shop on your left-hand side). Follow round double corner and you will come to the Junior School on right-hand side. Take the next right turn (you will see the Askham Bryan sign) into Swainsea Lane following road past St. Joseph's RCS (left-hand side) and Lady Lumley's School/Leisure Centre (right-hand side) then turning first left into the venue car park.
